Each section is a map from the naturals formed by the map-symbol helper, hence a defined set symbol in the point; the map of limits is formed by the limit-map helper, and is unique by uniqueness of limits.

Proof

Let Ο•:Nβ†’YD\phi:\mathbb{N}\to Y^{D} be the given sequence, so that fk=Ο•(k)f_{k}=\phi(k) for every k∈Nk\in\mathbb{N} (Sequences (i)).

Proof of (i). Let t∈Dt\in D. For k∈Nk\in\mathbb{N}, fk∈YDf_{k}\in Y^{D} is a map fk:Dβ†’Yf_{k}:D\to Y by The Class of All Functions from One Set to Another (i), so fk(t)∈Yf_{k}(t)\in Y by Values, Restriction and Equality of a Map, and the Map u↦t(u)u\mapsto t(u) as a Defined Set Symbol (ii). By Values, Restriction and Equality of a Map, and the Map u↦t(u)u\mapsto t(u) as a Defined Set Symbol (v), with N\mathbb{N} and YY for its AA and BB, kk for its uu, tt for its v1v_{1}, the guard t∈Dt\in D for its Ξ³\gamma, and the expression Ο•(k)(t)\phi(k)(t) in kk and tt, with Ο•\phi, DD, N\mathbb{N} and YY as parameters, the map st:Nβ†’Ys_{t}:\mathbb{N}\to Y, k↦fk(t)k\mapsto f_{k}(t), exists and is the only set hh satisfying a predicative formula ΞΈ(h,t)\theta(h,t). By Sequences (i), sts_{t} is a sequence in YY with kk-th term fk(t)f_{k}(t), and every sequence in YY with these terms equals sts_{t} by Values, Restriction and Equality of a Map, and the Map u↦t(u)u\mapsto t(u) as a Defined Set Symbol (iv). So st=(fk(t))k∈Ns_{t}=(f_{k}(t))_{k\in\mathbb{N}}, and sts_{t} is a defined set symbol in tt, given by ΞΈ\theta and used properly for t∈Dt\in D: an expression in tt of the kind Predicative Formulas for Convergence and Limits, and Maps Defined by Limits (v) takes.

Proof of (ii). By hypothesis, sts_{t} is convergent in (Y,dY)(Y,d_{Y}) for every t∈St\in S, and SβŠ†DS\subseteq D; as DD is a set, SS is a set by Subclasses of Sets Are Sets, the Union and Power Set of a Set Exist Uniquely, Binary Unions of Sets Are Sets, and the Universal Class Is Proper (i). By Predicative Formulas for Convergence and Limits, and Maps Defined by Limits (v), with (Y,dY)(Y,d_{Y}) for its (X,d)(X,d), SS for its aa and the expression sts_{t} in tt for its t(u)t(u), there is a map f:Sβ†’Yf:S\to Y with f(t)=lim⁑stf(t)=\lim s_{t} for every t∈St\in S, where lim⁑st\lim s_{t} is the limit lim⁑kβ†’βˆžfk(t)\lim_{k\to\infty}f_{k}(t) of sts_{t} in (Y,dY)(Y,d_{Y}) of The Limit of a Convergent Sequence in a Metric Space (i) (Predicative Formulas for Convergence and Limits, and Maps Defined by Limits (iii)). By The Limit of a Convergent Sequence in a Metric Space (ii), sts_{t} converges to f(t)f(t) in (Y,dY)(Y,d_{Y}) for every t∈St\in S. This proves existence and the description of f(t)f(t).

For uniqueness, let fβ€²:Sβ†’Yf':S\to Y be a map such that sts_{t} converges to fβ€²(t)f'(t) in (Y,dY)(Y,d_{Y}) for every t∈St\in S. For t∈St\in S, sts_{t} converges to both f(t)f(t) and fβ€²(t)f'(t), so fβ€²(t)=f(t)f'(t)=f(t) by Uniqueness of Limits in a Metric Space (i). Hence fβ€²=ff'=f by Values, Restriction and Equality of a Map, and the Map u↦t(u)u\mapsto t(u) as a Defined Set Symbol (iv).
