Absorption of Shifts by a Hamiltonian on Phase-Space Noncommutative Laws

A Hamiltonian absorbs shifts at noise level sigma if, at bounded positions, shifting the momentum by delta Q changes it by at most delta times a function of the momentum norm plus a quarter of sigma squared delta times the squared norm of Q, for all small delta.

Statement

In the setting of Plan Jets and Hamiltonians on Square-Integrable Noncommutative Laws: Standing Notation, let H:Σ2d2→R\mathcal{H}:\Sigma^{2}_{2d}\to\mathbb{R}, with lifts HM\mathcal{H}_{M} as in Plan Jets and Hamiltonians on Square-Integrable Noncommutative Laws: Standing Notation §lifts, and let σ>0\sigma>0 be real. Sums and real multiples of L2L^{2} dd-tuples are those of Plan Jets and Hamiltonians on Square-Integrable Noncommutative Laws: Standing Notation §pairing; the L2L^{2} norm ∥⋅∥2\lVert\cdot\rVert_{2} and laws are those of Tracial W*-Probability Spaces and Square-Integrable Tuples: Standing Notation §tuples; Σd,r\Sigma_{d,r} is the set of laws with norm bound rr of Noncommutative Laws, Couplings and the Wasserstein Distance: Standing Notation §laws and κd\kappa_{d} the canonical map of Square-Integrable Noncommutative Laws: Standing Notation §laws.

H\mathcal{H} absorbs shifts at noise level σ\sigma if for every real r>0r>0 there are a real δ0>0\delta_{0}>0 and a nondecreasing function ω:[0,∞)→[0,∞)\omega:[0,\infty)\to[0,\infty) such that, for every tracial W*-probability space (H,M,Ω)(H,M,\Omega), all L2L^{2} dd-tuples X,P,QX,P,Q of (H,M,Ω)(H,M,\Omega) with law(X)∈κd(Σd,r)\mathrm{law}(X)\in\kappa_{d}(\Sigma_{d,r}), and every real δ\delta with 0<δ≤δ00<\delta\le\delta_{0},

∣HM(X,P+δQ)−HM(X,P)∣≤δ ω(∥P∥2)+σ2δ4 ∥Q∥22.\bigl|\mathcal{H}_{M}(X,P+\delta Q)-\mathcal{H}_{M}(X,P)\bigr|\le\delta\,\omega\bigl(\lVert P\rVert_{2}\bigr)+\frac{\sigma^{2}\delta}{4}\,\lVert Q\rVert_{2}^{2}.
