Powers with Exponents in the Natural Numbers with Zero

For an element x of a set with a multiplication, xnx^n is the product of n copies of x, and x0x^0 is the neutral element when there is one.

Statement

In the setting of The Natural Numbers and the Natural Numbers with Zero: Arithmetic, Order, Induction and Recursion, let ⋅\cdot be a binary operation on a set XX, written multiplicatively, let x∈Xx\in X, and let n∈N0n\in\mathbb{N}_{0}.

If n∈Nn\in\mathbb{N}, the nn-th power of xx is the finite product xn=∏k=1nxx^{n}=\prod_{k=1}^{n}x.

If ⋅\cdot has a neutral element, which is unique by A Binary Operation Has at Most One Neutral Element §unique and written 11, then x0=1x^{0}=1.
