Maps between Classes, Continued: Agreement of Values

Two maps whose domains both contain u share a pair (u,v) with v a set exactly when their values at u agree.

Statement

In the setting of Routine Facts Used Without Citation: Arithmetic, Maps, Predicativity and Indices, let AA, BB, CC and DD be classes. For a map FF, F(u)F(u) is its value at uu, and (u,v)(u,v) is the ordered pair.

Agreement of values. Let F:Aβ†’CF:A\to C and G:Bβ†’DG:B\to D be maps, and let uu be a class with u∈Au\in A and u∈Bu\in B. Then there is a set vv with (u,v)∈F(u,v)\in F and (u,v)∈G(u,v)\in G if and only if

F(u)=G(u).F(u)=G(u).
