Adding an Element to, Subsets of, and Unions and Cartesian Products of Finite Sets Are Finite

A finite set stays finite when one element is added, its subsets are finite, and the union and the Cartesian product of two finite sets are finite.

Statement

In the setting of The Natural Numbers and the Natural Numbers with Zero: Arithmetic, Order, Induction and Recursion, let finite sets be as in Finite Sets §finite, and let AA and BB be sets.

If AA is finite, then A∪{x}A\cup\{x\} is finite for every set xx.

If AA is finite, every subset of AA is finite.

If AA and BB are finite, then A∪BA\cup B and A×BA\times B are finite.
