Penalty-Subordinate Growth of a Function on the Domain of a Noise Penalty Pair

A function on the penalty domain of a noise penalty pair has penalty-subordinate growth from above (below) if, for every positive delta, it is bounded above (below) by a constant plus (minus) delta times the penalty.

Statement

In the setting of Probability Measures on a Hilbert Space Transported in the Noise Norm: Standing Notation, let (D,DΣ,E,Σ)(\mathcal{D},\mathcal{D}_{\Sigma},\mathcal{E},\Sigma) be a noise penalty pair on the set Pρa\mathcal{P}^{a}_{\rho} of The Measures Noise-Connected to the Reference Measure §space, and let u:D→Ru:\mathcal{D}\to\mathbb{R}.

1. (Growth from above) The function uu has penalty-subordinate growth from above if for every positive δ∈R\delta\in\mathbb{R} there is C∈RC\in\mathbb{R} such that

u(μ)≤C+δ E(μ)for every μ∈D.u(\mu)\le C+\delta\,\mathcal{E}(\mu)\qquad\text{for every }\mu\in\mathcal{D}.

2. (Growth from below) The function uu has penalty-subordinate growth from below if for every positive δ∈R\delta\in\mathbb{R} there is C∈RC\in\mathbb{R} such that

−C−δ E(μ)≤u(μ)for every μ∈D.-C-\delta\,\mathcal{E}(\mu)\le u(\mu)\qquad\text{for every }\mu\in\mathcal{D}.
