Powers of Natural Numbers with Zero

Powers of natural numbers with zero are natural numbers with zero, satisfy the recursion and the laws for sums of exponents and products of bases, are 1 for base 1 and 0 for base 0 with positive exponent, and are at least 1 for a base at least 1.

Statement

In the setting of Routine Facts Used Without Citation: Arithmetic, Maps, Predicativity and Indices, let powers in N0\mathbb{N}_{0} be formed for the multiplication of N0\mathbb{N}_{0} as in Powers with Exponents in the Natural Numbers with Zero (i) and Powers with Exponents in the Natural Numbers with Zero (ii), and let m,n,j,k∈N0m,n,j,k\in\mathbb{N}_{0}.

Closure. mk∈N0m^{k}\in\mathbb{N}_{0}.

Recursion. m0=1m^{0}=1 and mk+1=mk⋅mm^{k+1}=m^{k}\cdot m.

Sum of exponents. mj+k=mj mkm^{j+k}=m^{j}\,m^{k}.

Product of bases. (mn)k=mk nk(mn)^{k}=m^{k}\,n^{k}.

Bases one and zero. 1k=11^{k}=1 and 0k+1=00^{k+1}=0.

Positivity. If 1≤m1\le m, then 1≤mk1\le m^{k}.
