Kit for def:expectation-variance

Being an integrable random variable, and being an integrable random vector in RnR^n, on a probability space over a fixed measurable space are predicative conditions, and the sets L1(P)L^1(P) and L1(PL^1(P;Rn)R^n) are the classes of such random variables and vectors.

Statement

In the setting of Routine Facts, Continued: Typed Arithmetic, Maps and Predicativity and Measurable Functions and the Lebesgue Integral: Notation, let (Ω,F)(\Omega,\mathcal{F}) be a measurable space. Let N≥1N\ge1 be a metatheoretic number, let x0,…,xN−1x_{0},\dots,x_{N-1} be distinct set variables, and let i,j,k,l<Ni,j,k,l<N, not necessarily distinct. The parameters, each other than x0,…,xN−1x_{0},\dots,x_{N-1}, are the set variables Ω\Omega and F\mathcal{F}; the seventeen parameters of Kit for def:probability-space-random-variable; the parameters of Kit for def:lebesgue-integral-integrable for the measurable space (Ω,F)(\Omega,\mathcal{F}); and the six parameters of Kit for def:measurable-function; the last three groups with the kinds and values given there. In the first three clauses, a condition on x0,…,xN−1x_{0},\dots,x_{N-1} is predicative if it is expressed by a predicative formula, with x0,…,xN−1x_{0},\dots,x_{N-1} in place of the variables of Conditions Expressed by a Predicative Formula, and Guards (i), no displayed variables, and these parameters.

Integrable random variables. With P=xiP=x_{i} and X=xjX=x_{j}, the condition "PP is a measure on (Ω,F)(\Omega,\mathcal{F}), (Ω,F,P)(\Omega,\mathcal{F},P) is a probability space, and XX is an integrable random variable" is predicative.

Integrable random vectors. With P=xiP=x_{i}, n=xjn=x_{j} and X=xkX=x_{k}, the condition "PP is a measure on (Ω,F)(\Omega,\mathcal{F}), (Ω,F,P)(\Omega,\mathcal{F},P) is a probability space, n∈Nn\in\mathbb{N}, and XX is an integrable random vector in Rn\mathbb{R}^{n}" is predicative.

Integrable matrix-valued functions. With P=xiP=x_{i}, p=xjp=x_{j}, q=xkq=x_{k} and X=xlX=x_{l}, the condition "PP is a measure on (Ω,F)(\Omega,\mathcal{F}), (Ω,F,P)(\Omega,\mathcal{F},P) is a probability space, p,q∈Np,q\in\mathbb{N}, and XX lies in the set L1(P;Rp×q)\mathcal{L}^{1}(P;\mathbb{R}^{p\times q})" is predicative.

The class of integrable random variables. For every measure PP on (Ω,F)(\Omega,\mathcal{F}) such that (Ω,F,P)(\Omega,\mathcal{F},P) is a probability space, there is a class CC such that, for every class aa, a∈Ca\in C if and only if aa is an integrable random variable; and CC is the set L1(P)\mathcal{L}^{1}(P).

The class of integrable random vectors. For every measure PP on (Ω,F)(\Omega,\mathcal{F}) such that (Ω,F,P)(\Omega,\mathcal{F},P) is a probability space and every n∈Nn\in\mathbb{N}, there is a class DD such that, for every class aa, a∈Da\in D if and only if aa is an integrable random vector in Rn\mathbb{R}^{n}; and DD is the set L1(P;Rn)\mathcal{L}^{1}(P;\mathbb{R}^{n}).
