Convex Hull of a Subset of Rn\mathbb{R}^n

The convex hull of a subset S of RnR^n is the smallest convex subset of RnR^n containing S.

Statement

In the setting of Convex Sets in Rn\mathbb{R}^n: Standing Notation, let S⊆RnS\subseteq\mathbb{R}^{n}.

Convex hull. The convex hull conv⁡S\operatorname{conv}S of SS is the unique convex subset of Rn\mathbb{R}^{n} that contains SS and is contained in every convex subset of Rn\mathbb{R}^{n} containing SS; it exists and is unique by Existence and Uniqueness of the Smallest Convex Superset of a Subset of Rn\mathbb{R}^n (i).
