A Finite Set of Real Numbers Has Exactly One Increasing Listing

A set of real numbers with N elements is listed by exactly one bijection from [N] that is strictly increasing.

Statement

In the setting of The Real Line: Standing Notation and Background for Calculus on Intervals, let N∈N0N\in\mathbb{N}_{0}, let [N][N] be as in Intervals of Natural Numbers (ii), and let AA be a subset of R\mathbb{R} such that there is a bijection from [N][N] onto AA; thus AA is finite.

There is exactly one bijection x:[N]→Ax:[N]\to A such that x(i)<x(j)x(i)<x(j) for all i,j∈[N]i,j\in[N] with i<ji<j.
