Cross-Level Data and Eta-Consistency of a Fine and a Coarse Level at (delta, R)

For compatible noise penalty pairs at a fine and a coarse level linked by a mode restriction, defines cross-level data (a fine measure, a real number and a coarse tangent field) and their R-boundedness, and calls the two levels eta-sub-, eta-super- or eta-consistent at (delta, R) when the coarse delta-shift at the pushed-forward datum and the fine delta-shift at the pulled-back field are ordered up to eta on R-bounded data.

Statement

In the setting of The Real Numbers: Standing Notation and Background and Two Noise Levels over Hilbert Spaces: a Fine and a Coarse Reading of the Noise Framework and Level-Indexed Notation, let levels 1 and 2 be as in Two Noise Levels over Hilbert Spaces: a Fine and a Coarse Reading of the Noise Framework and Level-Indexed Notation §levels, with the level-indexed notation of Two Noise Levels over Hilbert Spaces: a Fine and a Coarse Reading of the Noise Framework and Level-Indexed Notation §notation, and let (κ,p,j)(\kappa,p,j) be a mode-restriction link from level 1 to level 2, with mode restriction pp and mode embedding jj. For i∈{1,2}i\in\{1,2\} let Pi=(Di,DΣ,i,Ei,Σi)\mathcal{P}_{i}=(\mathcal{D}_{i},\mathcal{D}_{\Sigma,i},\mathcal{E}_{i},\Sigma_{i}) be a noise penalty pair on Pρia\mathcal{P}^{a}_{\rho_{i}} at level ii, and suppose that P1\mathcal{P}_{1} and P2\mathcal{P}_{2} are compatible. For i∈{1,2}i\in\{1,2\} let FiF_{i} be a first-order equation operator over DΣ,i\mathcal{D}_{\Sigma,i} at level ii, with δ\delta-shifts Fi,δ−F^{-}_{i,\delta} and Fi,δ+F^{+}_{i,\delta} relative to Pi\mathcal{P}_{i} for positive δ∈R\delta\in\mathbb{R}, functions on Va,i(DΣ,i)×R\mathcal{V}^{a,i}(\mathcal{D}_{\Sigma,i})\times\mathbb{R} whose value at ((ν,q),r)((\nu,q),r) is written Fi,δ∓(ν,r,q)F^{\mp}_{i,\delta}(\nu,r,q). For μ∈D1\mu\in\mathcal{D}_{1} the measures μ\mu and ρ1\rho_{1} lie in Pρ1a\mathcal{P}^{a}_{\rho_{1}} (Noise Penalty Pairs on the Noise Wasserstein Space: the Penalty, Its Score, and Their Domains §pair, The Noise Wasserstein Distance is a Metric on the Measures Noise-Connected to the Reference Measure: Existence of Noise-Optimal Couplings, Comparison with the Quadratic Wasserstein Distance and Lower Semicontinuity §reference), so that Wa,1(μ,ρ1)W_{a,1}(\mu,\rho_{1}) is a nonnegative real number; ∣s∣|s| is the absolute value of s∈Rs\in\mathbb{R}. In this item the letter η\eta denotes a nonnegative real number.

1. (Cross-level data) A cross-level datum is a triple (μ,r,h)(\mu,r,h) with μ∈DΣ,1\mu\in\mathcal{D}_{\Sigma,1}, r∈Rr\in\mathbb{R} and h∈Tp#μa,2h\in T^{a,2}_{p_{\#}\mu}. For such a triple, p#μ∈DΣ,2p_{\#}\mu\in\mathcal{D}_{\Sigma,2} by Compatible Noise Penalty Pairs at a Fine and a Coarse Level §compatible and Tp#μa,2⊆L2(p#μ;X2a)T^{a,2}_{p_{\#}\mu}\subseteq L^{2}(p_{\#}\mu;X_{2}^{a}) by The Noise Gradient of a Cylindrical Function and the Noise Tangent Space at a Probability Measure on a Hilbert Space §tangent, taken at level 2, so that (p#μ,h)∈Va,2(DΣ,2)(p_{\#}\mu,h)\in\mathcal{V}^{a,2}(\mathcal{D}_{\Sigma,2}); and the class j∘h∘pj\circ h\circ p of Properties of a Mode-Restriction Link: Isometric Embedding, Contraction of Noise Norms and Noise Wasserstein Distances, and Pull-Back of Cylindrical Functions and Tangent Fields §fields lies in Tμa,1T^{a,1}_{\mu} by Properties of a Mode-Restriction Link: Isometric Embedding, Contraction of Noise Norms and Noise Wasserstein Distances, and Pull-Back of Cylindrical Functions and Tangent Fields §tangent, hence in L2(μ;X1a)L^{2}(\mu;X_{1}^{a}), so that (μ,j∘h∘p)∈Va,1(DΣ,1)(\mu,j\circ h\circ p)\in\mathcal{V}^{a,1}(\mathcal{D}_{\Sigma,1}). The score Σ1(μ)\Sigma_{1}(\mu) lies in Tμa,1T^{a,1}_{\mu} by Noise Penalty Pairs on the Noise Wasserstein Space: the Penalty, Its Score, and Their Domains §pair. Let R∈RR\in\mathbb{R} be positive. The cross-level datum is RR-bounded if

Wa,1(μ,ρ1)<R,∣E1(μ)∣<R,∥Σ1(μ)∥μ,1<R,∣r∣<R,∥h∥p#μ,2<R.W_{a,1}(\mu,\rho_{1})<R,\qquad|\mathcal{E}_{1}(\mu)|<R,\qquad\lVert\Sigma_{1}(\mu)\rVert_{\mu,1}<R,\qquad|r|<R,\qquad\lVert h\rVert_{p_{\#}\mu,2}<R.

2. (Sub-consistency) Let δ,R∈R\delta,R\in\mathbb{R} be positive. The fine level with F1F_{1} and P1\mathcal{P}_{1} and the coarse level with F2F_{2} and P2\mathcal{P}_{2} are η\eta-sub-consistent at (δ,R)(\delta,R) if

F2,δ−(p#μ,r,h)≤F1,δ−(μ,r,j∘h∘p)+ηF^{-}_{2,\delta}(p_{\#}\mu,r,h)\le F^{-}_{1,\delta}(\mu,r,j\circ h\circ p)+\eta

for every RR-bounded cross-level datum (μ,r,h)(\mu,r,h).

3. (Super-consistency) With δ\delta and RR as in clause 2, the two levels are η\eta-super-consistent at (δ,R)(\delta,R) if

F1,δ+(μ,r,j∘h∘p)≤F2,δ+(p#μ,r,h)+ηF^{+}_{1,\delta}(\mu,r,j\circ h\circ p)\le F^{+}_{2,\delta}(p_{\#}\mu,r,h)+\eta

for every RR-bounded cross-level datum (μ,r,h)(\mu,r,h).

4. (Consistency) With δ\delta and RR as in clause 2, the two levels are η\eta-consistent at (δ,R)(\delta,R) if they are both η\eta-sub-consistent and η\eta-super-consistent at (δ,R)(\delta,R).
