Integrable Vector- and Matrix-Valued Functions and Their Integrals

A measurable function into ℝⁿ or into the real p×q matrices is integrable when all its components or entries are integrable, and its integral is formed componentwise or entrywise.

Statement

In the settings of Measure Spaces, Borel Sets and Lebesgue Measure on the Real Line: Standing Notation and Euclidean Space and Real Matrices: Standing Notation, let (X,F,μ)(X,\mathcal{F},\mu) be a measure space and let n,p,q∈Nn,p,q\in\mathbb{N}, with Rp×q=Mp×q(R)\mathbb{R}^{p\times q}=\mathcal{M}_{p\times q}(\mathbb{R}) as in Borel Sigma-Algebra of a Metric Space (iv). L1(μ)\mathcal{L}^{1}(\mu) is the set of integrable functions X→RX\to\mathbb{R}, with the integral ∫Xg dμ∈R\int_{X}g\,d\mu\in\mathbb{R} of g∈L1(μ)g\in\mathcal{L}^{1}(\mu). For f:X→Rnf:X\to\mathbb{R}^{n} and k∈[n]k\in[n], fkf_{k} is the kk-th component function of ff; for F:X→Rp×qF:X\to\mathbb{R}^{p\times q}, i∈[p]i\in[p] and j∈[q]j\in[q], FijF_{ij} is its entry function. For a measurable space (Y,G)(Y,\mathcal{G}), Meas(X,F;Y,G)\mathrm{Meas}(X,\mathcal{F};Y,\mathcal{G}) is the set of F/G\mathcal{F}/\mathcal{G}-measurable functions X→YX\to Y of Measurable Map, and the Set of Measurable Maps (ii).
