Toolkit for CA1c

Small facts used by the Gaussian-density proofs: signs of 1, of squares and of |a|^{-1}, a scaling rule in [0,∞], continuity and preimages of half-open intervals under affine maps of ℝ, commutativity of addition in ℝⁿ, agreement of two versions of the square matrices, and the defining property of a measure with a density.

Statement

In the setting of Routine Facts, Continued: Typed Arithmetic, Maps and Predicativity and Measurable Functions and the Lebesgue Integral: Notation: << is the strict relation of the order ≤\le of R\mathbb{R}, −x-x and x−yx-y are the negative and the difference, y−1y^{-1} and x/yx/y (for y≠0y\neq0) the reciprocal and the quotient, and ∣x∣|x| is the absolute value.

0≤10\le1 in R\mathbb{R}.

If x∈Rx\in\mathbb{R} and x≠0x\neq0, then 0<x⋅x0<x\cdot x.

If x∈Rx\in\mathbb{R} and x⋅x≠0x\cdot x\neq0, then x≠0x\neq0.

For every element yy of the type Real\mathrm{Real} of The Real Numbers as a Type (i), with 00, 11, ++ and ⋅\cdot as in The Real Numbers as a Type (ii), 1+y⋅y≠01+y\cdot y\neq0.

If a∈Ra\in\mathbb{R} and a≠0a\neq0, then ∣a∣∈R|a|\in\mathbb{R}, 0<∣a∣0<|a|, ∣a∣−1∈R|a|^{-1}\in\mathbb{R}, 0<∣a∣−10<|a|^{-1} and

∣a∣−1⋅∣a∣=1.|a|^{-1}\cdot|a|=1 .

If k,l∈Rk,l\in\mathbb{R}, 0<k0<k, 0<l0<l and x∈[0,∞]x\in[0,\infty], the set of The Extended Real Line, Its Order, and [0,∞] (ii), then

k (l x)=(k⋅l) x,k\,(l\,x)=(k\cdot l)\,x ,

where k⋅lk\cdot l is the product in R\mathbb{R} and the other three products are the product on [0,∞][0,\infty].

If a,b∈Ra,b\in\mathbb{R} and T:R→RT:\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R} is a map with T(x)=ax+bT(x)=ax+b for every x∈Rx\in\mathbb{R}, then TT is continuous from R\mathbb{R} to R\mathbb{R}, both carrying the distance dRd_{\mathbb{R}}.

If a,b,u,v∈Ra,b,u,v\in\mathbb{R} and T:R→RT:\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R} is a map with T(x)=ax+bT(x)=ax+b for every x∈Rx\in\mathbb{R}, then, for the half-open intervals and the preimage T−1[⋅]T^{-1}[\cdot]: if 0<a0<a, then

T−1[(u,v]]=(u−ba,v−ba];T^{-1}[(u,v]]=\Bigl(\frac{u-b}{a},\frac{v-b}{a}\Bigr] ;

and if a<0a<0, then

T−1[(u,v]]=[v−ba,u−ba).T^{-1}[(u,v]]=\Bigl[\frac{v-b}{a},\frac{u-b}{a}\Bigr) .

If n∈Nn\in\mathbb{N} and x,y∈Rnx,y\in\mathbb{R}^{n}, the space of Euclidean Space Rn\mathbb{R}^n: n-Tuples of Real Numbers with Their Componentwise Operations (i), then x+y=y+xx+y=y+x for the sum of Rn\mathbb{R}^{n}.

For every n∈Nn\in\mathbb{N}, the set Mn(R)\mathcal{M}_{n}(\mathbb{R}) of square real matrices of Real Matrices: the Set of Real m x n Matrices with Their Entrywise Operations (i) equals the set Mn(R)\mathcal{M}_{n}(\mathbb{R}) of square real matrices of Real Matrices: the Set of Real m x n Matrices with Their Entrywise Operations (i).

If (X,F,μ)(X,\mathcal{F},\mu) is a measure space and h∈M+(X,F)h\in\mathcal{M}^{+}(X,\mathcal{F}), then the measure hμh\mu with density hh with respect to μ\mu is a map hμ:F→[0,∞]h\mu:\mathcal{F}\to[0,\infty] with

(hμ)(A)=∫Ah dμ(A∈F).(h\mu)(A)=\int_{A}h\,d\mu\qquad(A\in\mathcal{F}).
