Separable Metric Space and Separable Real Normed Space

A metric space is separable if it has a countable dense subset; a real normed space is separable if it is separable for its norm metric.

Statement

In the setting of Separable Real Normed Spaces and Hahn–Banach: Notation, let (X,d)(X,d) be a metric space.

Separable metric space. (X,d)(X,d) is separable if there is a countable subset D⊆XD\subseteq X that is dense in (X,d)(X,d).

Separable normed space. A real normed space VV is separable if the metric space (V,dV)(V,d_{V}), with dVd_{V} its norm metric, is separable.
