The Natural Numbers Read in ℝ: a Predicative Condition and a Function from ℕ₀ to ℝ

Reading an element n of ℕ₀ as the real number n_ℝ is a predicative condition at any two variable positions, and n ↦ n_ℝ is a function from ℕ₀ to ℝ.

Statement

In the setting of Routine Facts Used Without Citation: Arithmetic, Maps, Predicativity and Indices, for n∈N0n\in\mathbb{N}_{0} let nRn_{\mathbb{R}} be its image in R\mathbb{R}, the reading of nn in R\mathbb{R} of Commutative Rings, Fields and Ordered Fields: Standard Notation (iv). Let N≥2N\ge2 be a metatheoretic number, let x0,…,xN−1x_{0},\dots,x_{N-1} be distinct set variables, and let i,j<Ni,j<N be distinct.

A predicative condition. The condition "xj∈N0x_{j}\in\mathbb{N}_{0} and xi=(xj)Rx_{i}=(x_{j})_{\mathbb{R}}" on x0,…,xN−1x_{0},\dots,x_{N-1} is expressed by a predicative formula, with x0,…,xN−1x_{0},\dots,x_{N-1} in place of the variables x1,…,xkx_{1},\dots,x_{k} of Conditions Expressed by a Predicative Formula, and Guards (i) and no displayed variables.

A function from N0\mathbb{N}_{0} to R\mathbb{R}. There is exactly one function ι:N0→R\iota:\mathbb{N}_{0}\to\mathbb{R} with ι(n)=nR\iota(n)=n_{\mathbb{R}} for every n∈N0n\in\mathbb{N}_{0}.
