Kit for def:holomorphic-function

Being a map from an open subset U of the complex plane to the complex numbers that is holomorphic on an open W contained in U, together with these standing hypotheses, is expressed by a predicative formula; for fixed U and W, these maps form a class.

Statement

In the setting of Complex Analysis: Standing Notation; this item is a statement of the metatheory. Let n≥1n\ge1 be a metatheoretic number, let x0,…,xn−1x_{0},\dots,x_{n-1} be distinct set variables, and let i,j,k<ni,j,k<n, not necessarily distinct. The first clause states that a condition on x0,…,xn−1x_{0},\dots,x_{n-1} is predicative: expressed by a predicative formula, with x0,…,xn−1x_{0},\dots,x_{n-1} in place of the variables of Conditions Expressed by a Predicative Formula, and Guards (i) and no displayed variables. The set C\mathbb{C} with its sum and product operations, the distance dCd_{\mathbb{C}}, and R\mathbb{R} with its addition ++, its element 00, its order ≤\le and the strict order << of ≤\le are parameters. Subsets are as in Subclasses and Subsets (i), maps as in Functions, Values of a Function, and Functions from One Class to Another (iii), and open subsets of (C,dC)(\mathbb{C},d_{\mathbb{C}}) as in Open Subset of a Metric Space (i).

Holomorphic functions. With U=xiU=x_{i}, f=xjf=x_{j} and W=xkW=x_{k}, the condition "U⊆CU\subseteq\mathbb{C} and UU is open in (C,dC)(\mathbb{C},d_{\mathbb{C}}), ff is a map f:U→Cf:U\to\mathbb{C}, W⊆UW\subseteq U, WW is open in (C,dC)(\mathbb{C},d_{\mathbb{C}}), and ff is holomorphic on WW" is predicative.

The class of holomorphic functions. For every open subset UU of (C,dC)(\mathbb{C},d_{\mathbb{C}}) and every open subset WW of (C,dC)(\mathbb{C},d_{\mathbb{C}}) with W⊆UW\subseteq U there is a class HH such that, for every class ff, f∈Hf\in H if and only if ff is a map f:U→Cf:U\to\mathbb{C} that is holomorphic on WW.
