Being a Cauchy sequence of real numbers is a predicative condition on a set variable, at any position among finitely many, and the Cauchy sequences of real numbers form a class.
In the setting of Routine Facts, Continued: Typed Arithmetic, Maps and Predicativity, let be a metatheoretic number, let be distinct set variables, and let . A condition on is predicative if it is expressed by a predicative formula, with in place of the variables of Conditions Expressed by a Predicative Formula, and Guards (i) and no displayed variables; , , the order , the strict order and the element of , and the distance on are parameters. Sequences are as in Sequences (i), and Cauchy sequences as in Cauchy Sequences of Real Numbers (i).
Cauchy sequences. The condition " is a Cauchy sequence in " on is predicative.
The class of Cauchy sequences. There is a class such that, for every class , if and only if is a Cauchy sequence in .
