Continuous Cylindrical Functions of Polynomial Growth on a Hilbert Space

Defines continuous cylindrical functions of polynomial growth on a Hilbert space: functions of finitely many coordinates, F=ψ∘pnF=\psi\circ p_n with ψ\psi continuous on Rn\mathbb{R}^n and bounded by a polynomial in the Euclidean norm, together with the notion of a representation of such a function and its growth exponent.

Statement

In the setting of Borel Probability Measures on a Real Hilbert Space with an Orthonormal Basis: Standing Notation, with the coordinate maps pn:X→Rnp_{n}:X\to\mathbb{R}^{n} and the Euclidean norm ∥⋅∥\lVert\cdot\rVert on Rn\mathbb{R}^{n} of Borel Probability Measures on a Real Hilbert Space with an Orthonormal Basis: Standing Notation §coordinates; continuity of a map Rn→R\mathbb{R}^{n}\to\mathbb{R} is that of Continuous Map Between Metric Spaces for the Euclidean distance and the absolute-value distance; for real u≥0u\ge0 and q∈Nq\in\mathbb{N}, uqu^{q} is the natural power and u0=1u^{0}=1.

1. (Continuous cylindrical functions of polynomial growth) A function F:X→RF:X\to\mathbb{R} is a continuous cylindrical function of polynomial growth if there are n∈Nn\in\mathbb{N}, a continuous ψ:Rn→R\psi:\mathbb{R}^{n}\to\mathbb{R}, a real B≥0B\ge0 and q∈N∪{0}q\in\mathbb{N}\cup\{0\} with F=ψ∘pnF=\psi\circ p_{n} and

∣ψ(y)∣≤B(1+∥y∥q)for every y∈Rn.|\psi(y)|\le B\bigl(1+\lVert y\rVert^{q}\bigr)\qquad\text{for every }y\in\mathbb{R}^{n}.

The set of these functions is FCpol(X)\mathcal{F}C_{\mathrm{pol}}(X).

2. (Representations) For F∈FCpol(X)F\in\mathcal{F}C_{\mathrm{pol}}(X), a quadruple (n,ψ,B,q)(n,\psi,B,q) as in clause 1 is a representation of FF, and qq is its growth exponent.
