Division with Remainder

An integer m can be written in exactly one way as qn + r with q an integer and r a natural number with zero less than the natural number n.

Statement

In the setting of Routine Facts, Continued: Typed Arithmetic, Maps and Predicativity, let n∈Nn\in\mathbb{N} and m∈Zm\in\mathbb{Z}.

Division with remainder. There is exactly one pair (q,r)(q,r) with q∈Zq\in\mathbb{Z} and r∈N0r\in\mathbb{N}_{0} such that

m=qn+randr<n.m=qn+r\qquad\text{and}\qquad r<n.
