The Paley-Wiener Functional of a Cameron-Martin Vector: Borel Measurability, Almost Everywhere and Mean-Square Convergence, Mean Zero and Variance the Cameron-Martin Square

The Paley-Wiener functional is Borel and equals the scaled coordinate for basis vectors; for a Cameron-Martin vector its partial sums converge almost everywhere and in mean square under the diagonal Gaussian measure, and its mean is zero and its second moment the Cameron-Martin square.

Statement

In the setting of Borel Probability Measures on a Real Hilbert Space with an Orthonormal Basis: Standing Notation, with the coordinates of Borel Probability Measures on a Real Hilbert Space with an Orthonormal Basis: Standing Notation §coordinates and integrability as in Measure Spaces and the Lebesgue Integral: Standing Notation, let cc be a variance sequence, γc\gamma_{c} the diagonal Gaussian measure on XX with variances cc, HcH_{c} the Cameron-Martin space of cc with Cameron-Martin square ∣h∣c2|h|_{c}^{2} (h∈Hch\in H_{c}), and, for h∈Xh\in X, let ℓh,n\ell_{h,n} (n∈Nn\in\mathbb{N}) be the Paley-Wiener partial sums and ℓh\ell_{h} the Paley-Wiener functional of hh relative to cc.

1. (Borel measurability) For every h∈Xh\in X, the set of those x∈Xx\in X for which (ℓh,n(x))n∈N(\ell_{h,n}(x))_{n\in\mathbb{N}} converges is a Borel set, and the functions ℓh,n\ell_{h,n} (n∈Nn\in\mathbb{N}) and ℓh\ell_{h} are Borel.

2. (Basis vectors) For every k∈Nk\in\mathbb{N} and every x∈Xx\in X, ℓek(x)=xk/ck\ell_{e_{k}}(x)=x_{k}/c_{k}.

3. (Convergence) Let h∈Hch\in H_{c}. Then: the set of those x∈Xx\in X for which (ℓh,n(x))n∈N(\ell_{h,n}(x))_{n\in\mathbb{N}} converges has γc\gamma_{c}-measure 11; the functions ℓh\ell_{h}, (ℓh)2(\ell_{h})^{2}, ℓh,n\ell_{h,n} and (ℓh,n)2(\ell_{h,n})^{2} (n∈Nn\in\mathbb{N}) are integrable with respect to γc\gamma_{c}; and for every n∈Nn\in\mathbb{N}

∫X(ℓh(x)−ℓh,n(x))2 γc(dx)=∑k=n+1∞hk2ck,\int_{X}\bigl(\ell_{h}(x)-\ell_{h,n}(x)\bigr)^{2}\,\gamma_{c}(dx)=\sum_{k=n+1}^{\infty}\frac{h_{k}^{2}}{c_{k}},

which tends to 00 as n→∞n\to\infty.

4. (Mean and variance) For every h∈Hch\in H_{c},

∫Xℓh dγc=0and∫X(ℓh)2 dγc=∣h∣c2.\int_{X}\ell_{h}\,d\gamma_{c}=0\qquad\text{and}\qquad\int_{X}(\ell_{h})^{2}\,d\gamma_{c}=|h|_{c}^{2}.
