Law Packages for the Operations of ℕ₀ and of a Commutative Ring

Addition and multiplication of the natural numbers with zero, and of any commutative ring, are associative and commutative binary operations with neutral elements 0 and 1.

Statement

In the setting of Routine Facts Used Without Citation: Arithmetic, Maps, Predicativity and Indices, with N0\mathbb{N}_{0}, 00 and 11 as in The Natural Numbers and the Natural Numbers with Zero: Arithmetic, Order, Induction and Recursion (ii):

The natural numbers with zero. The addition ++ of N0\mathbb{N}_{0} is an associative and commutative binary operation on N0\mathbb{N}_{0} with neutral element 00, and the multiplication ⋅\cdot of N0\mathbb{N}_{0} is an associative and commutative binary operation on N0\mathbb{N}_{0} with neutral element 11.

Commutative rings. If RR, with ++, ⋅\cdot, 00 and 11, is a commutative ring, then ++ is an associative and commutative binary operation on RR with neutral element 00, and ⋅\cdot is an associative and commutative binary operation on RR with neutral element 11.
