Permutations of a Set and the Set of Permutations of [n]

A permutation of a set A is a bijection from A to A, and SnS_n is the set of permutations of [n].

Statement

In the setting of The Natural Numbers and the Natural Numbers with Zero: Arithmetic, Order, Induction and Recursion, let AA be a set, let n∈N0n\in\mathbb{N}_{0}, and let [n][n] be as in Intervals of Natural Numbers §segment.

A permutation of AA is a bijection σ:A→A\sigma:A\to A.

Sn={σ∈[n][n]:σ is bijective}S_{n}=\{\sigma\in[n]^{[n]}:\sigma\text{ is bijective}\} is the set of permutations of [n][n].
